SKPA Udhampur organizes seminar on "community policing"

Udhampur, July 30: A two days seminar on "Community Policing" was organised by SKPA Udhampur which commenced on 29th of July, 2019 and concluded on 30th July 2019, in which 26 Police officers nominated by PHQ participated. This course was undertaken in the Academy with the aim to sensitize the participating Police officers about the community policing and Police-Public relations.
The course was inaugurated by Rajiv Om Parkash Panday, IPS, SSP Udhampur. On this occasion Rajiv Om Parkash Panday, IPS, SSP Udhampur also planted a tree sapling (Arjun tree) in the academy.
During the course eminent speakers deliberated on the different aspects of community policing. Rajiv Om Parkash Panday, IPS, SSP Udhampur deliberated on community policing Vis-a-Vis importance of police-public behaviour and best practices in community policing.
Mehesh Koul, MBA, PHD (Post Doctoral Fellow Indian Council of Philosophical research (ICPR), New Delhi) shared his knowledge and experience with the participating officers on the topics Police Community relationship for better society and Responsibility of media in social engineering. Dr. Pallavi Sachdeva, Asstt. Professor Deptt. Of Lifelong Learning, Jammu University deliberated on topics, Community Policing, its importance and Role of Psychology in Community Policing.
Kamal Sharma, CPO SKPAU also shared his knowledge and experience with the participants about Prompt, Legal Guidance/Counselling and Mediation at Police Stations and Police Post level as an effective tool for strengthening bond between Police and Public Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, IPS, IGP, Director SKPA Udhampur conducted the Valediction of the seminar and shared his knowledge and experience with the participating officers.
