Kathua admin discusses arrangements for grand Nagar Kirtan

kathua, July 30: To review the arrangements for greeting grand-Nagar Kirtan procession here at Lakhanpur on August 4, 2019, in connection with the celebration of 550th 'Prakash Parab' of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the District Administration Kathua today held a meeting with the organizing committee to make the event memorable.
The meeting was chaired by ADC, Ghanshyam Singh Bali and attended by Executive Engineer PHE, Surjeet Singh, Executive Engineer PDD, Mohammad Shafi, DySP HQ Nikhil Rasgotra, officers from Local Urban bodies and others.
Pertinently, a religious procession is reaching Lakhanpur from Nankana Sahib (in Pakistan) on August 4, 2019 to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of the founding Guru of Sikhism.
The ADC asked the Police authorities to ensure adequate security arrangements and traffic management for uninterrupted movement on the procession routes. Health Department was directed to ensure adequate provision of medicare facilities and provide an ambulance with first aid medicines and doctor during Nagar Kirtan.
Similarly, PHE department was asked to arrange drinking water at Lakhanpur and along the procession route. PDD department was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply at Lakhanpur during the day.
The ADC stressed on maintaining coordination for smooth conduct of the grand congregation. He urged the religious organizations to coordinate with the administration so as to celebrate this occasion with traditional fervour and zeal.
