Early Times Report
POONCH, July 31: Hundreds of students and villagers blocked Poonch-Jammu highway at village Madana in Surankote Tehsil against Chief Education Officer Poonch for not providing teachers in High School Bachhiyan Wali. The protesters did not allow vehicles to ply on the road. They were raising slogans against CEO and ZEO Surankote for illegally allowing teachers to work in CEO and ZEO Offices. The protest lasted for two hours.
"We have repeatedly apprised CEO Poonch, Vijay Bhagat and ZEO Surankote that dozens of teachers from village Madana and Bachhiyan Wali are attached in various other schools causing huge problems in the schools, but he never took pain and always behaved rudely by saying that go and do what you can do I have other several works to do in my office" said, Mohd Fareed , a protester. "We feel that the higher authority has lost its control over CEO Poonch who never took pain whenever we meet him and never listen our problems, so we are compelled to come on the road" said Fareed. "CEO Poonch and ZEO Surankote have attached several teachers and masters in their offices illegally for official works which suffers academic side of the schools badly, we appeal to Governer Satya Pal Malik and Farook Khan, Advisor to Governor to look into the matter personally and send a special team to check that how dozens of teachers have been working in offices illegally" said Gulam Mohd another protester.
SDM Surankote and CEO Poonch Vijay Bhagat after two hours of protest rushed to the spot where they faced public resentment. SDM Surankote directed CEO Poonch to look into the matter and resolve the issue within two days.
