BJP, Congress cheated us over development, residents of Guru Nanak Nagar tell Munish

7/31/2019 11:26:50 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 31: Accusing former MLAs of BJP and Congress, the residents of Guru Nanak Nagar said that both the MLAs have cheated us by making "hollow slogan"of development before election but after getting elected they failed to deliver what they promised with us.
Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta who would be contesting upcoming assembly election from the Gandhi Nagar constituency as an independent candidate today conducted extensively mass campaign Guru Nanak Nagar's sector 1 and 3 and its adjoining market of Khalsa Chowk.
During the campaign, he met with people of lane no 3, 4 and 7 of sector 1 and lane no 2 of sector 3. The residents of locality narrated their civic problems like sanitation, clogged drains and dilapidated roads of the lanes. After patient hearing to people problems, he assured that all civic amenities would be addressed just after he gets elected from the constituency.
Residents of Sec 1 said that cleanliness is the major issues. The safaikaramchari dumps all the garbage in the entrance of lane near the Mandir. However, before election of MLA or civic bodies, the leaders made tall claims over sanitation issues but to no avail. "Lanes were blacktopped recently by department concerned but most of by lanes and drains are still unconstructed", said Darshan Lal.
Neelam Gupta informed Munish Gupta that the streetlights of our lane is lying fused since long time and not restored by so far. We asked to local councillor and even authority concerned but our pleas yield nothing.
Roshan Singh appraised that he is staying in lane no 3 of sector 11 near the Shiv Mandir but our lanes and drains are turned dilapidated due to apathy of former MLAs either Kavinder Gupta or Raman Bhalla. Recently, all the lanes of Sector 12 and 1 were blacktopped but only our sector lanes without macadamized, resulting the manholes have been developed on road due to sewerage water of nearby nallah is passing through the lanes whenever rain comes.
"Heaps of garbage could be seen near the every junction due to absence of bins. The stray animals and dogs the consuming the garbage day and night and foul smell emanating from them giving sleepless night", he further said.
Residents of lane no 4 of Sector 1 said that before MLA election, Kavinder Gupta assured us that your transformer would be upgraded and fenced but after lapse of five years since, 2014 neither the transformer upgraded nor fenced so far, resulting of it, the hanging live wire posing serious threat to commoners especially to children.
