Amid Omar-Mehbooba twitter war Ram Madhav 'thanks' Mehbooba for supporting Triple Talaq Bill
8/1/2019 12:13:38 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 31: Role played by party's two Rajya Sabha members namely Fayaz Mir and Nazir Ahmed Laway has provided ammunitions to the opponents to expose PDP president Mehbooba Mufti for 'duplicity' of her party.
Mehbooba's arch rival Omar Abdullah is using social media to expose PDP president, BJP's national general secretary Ram Madhav made it a point to expose PDP at Srinagar only that people of Kashmir Valley will know about duplicity of the party.
While interacting with media persons, Ram Madhav, who was architect of previous PDP-BJP, 'thanked' Mehbooba Mufti for support of her party's Rajya Sabha members during voting on Triple Talaq Bill. "By absenting during voting, our party members have supported the historic bill", he told Mehbooba Mufti and suggested her not to talk about dynamite or bombs but carry on her support to the good works of Narindra Modi government.
Soon after Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu announced that the bill banning instant divorce among Muslims has been passed, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted to describe it as a move to punish Muslims. "Fail to understand the need to pass the triple talaq bill especially since the Supreme Court had already declared it illegal. Undue interference seemingly to punish Muslims. Given the current state of the economy, should this really have been a priority?" she had stated.
Meanwhile twitter war continued between Mehbooba and Omar after later chided her for support rendered by her MPs in the Rajya Sabha.
Mehbooba hit back at the NC president while seeking to justify the decision of PDP Rajya Sabha MPs to abstain from the voting.
"Omar sahab, I suggest you get off your moral high horse since it was your own party that expelled Soz sahab for voting against the BJP in 1999. FYI in parliament, abstention is essentially a no vote," Mehbooba Mufti said in her response to Omar Abdullah.
