8/4/2019 10:58:53 PM
Early Times Report
DODA, Aug 4: Sangeeta Devi, a student of 9th standard and pertinently a physically challenged girl hailing from the countryside had recently appealed to the Governor and DC Doda for providing her assistance to meet basic needs of food, shelter and clothing. But as a matter of fact her pleas were not given any sort of attention. The story of this juvenile girl is indeed heart wrenching so is her lifestyle. She is suffering from Polio since birth and in addition to this her father Prem Lal has lost his vision and is physically ill and mentally altered. She is unable to walk and her mother routinely aids her for going to school. Her mother is also a patient as she had got her eyes operated last year.
Hailing form village Maslal (Malwana Jagir) in Tehsil Gundna of District Doda, it is intensively harsh for them to cope up with the situation properly on an income of just Rs1000 per month that Sangeeta gets as pension from the government. There is no other source of income for this miserable family. Sangeeta wants to pursue MBBS and is a diligent and enthusiastic girl.
After the incident caught the eyes of the members of District Rural Youth Welfare Association (DRYWA), an NGO known for philanthropy, they have decided to bear all the expenses related to the education of the young and ambitious girl.
President of DRYWA Farid Ahmed Naik and on the opinions of the other members viz Press Secretary Arif Hussain, Amir Haq, Mohd Ayoub, Ahsaan Ahmed, Ashfaq Ahmed Mohd Ayoub , Altaf Ahmed took this step by saying that DRYWA was established to assist the needy and that is our job and will keep doing it in future as well.
