Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 4: In another shameful act the administration at District Hospital Kishtwar denied the admission to a pregnant woman hailing from Udhampur District of the state.
As per the details available with "Early Times", victim Mennu Devi, wife a laborer working in Kishtwar District after developing labor pain was brought to District Hospital Kishtwar late in the evening, but surprisingly the hospital authorities refuse to admit said pregnant lady citing the reason that they don't have the required facility available in the hospital and was later shifted to District Hospital Doda with the help of local NGO Ababeel.
The video footage of the incident available shows that the pregnant woman was screaming for them while sitting on the floor at the main entrance gate of emergency ward of the District Hospital Kishtwar while few other women surrounding her were seen consoling her.
Some people in the video could also been heard slamming the hospital authorities for denying help to the non local pregnant woman and called for action against the erring hospital authorities.
A member of NGO Ababeel confirmed the incident caught in the video and said that the incident was reported two days ago.
It is pertinent to mention that Kishtwar police last month register two FIRs against hospital authorities for their negligence in death of 12th class student from Marwah as well as in showing non-serious approach towards treating the Keshwan accident victims, but till date no arrest has been made by the police so far.
