Police registers case in Marwah BDO office fire incident: Director RDD&PR

JAMMU, Aug 4: Director Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Jammu today said that police has registered an FIR in connection with the gutting of the office of Block Development Officer (BDO) Marwah under mysterious circumstances and assured a thorough probe into the matter to ascertain the facts that lead to the fire incident.
Speaking to "Early Times" Director RDD&PR Jammu Sudarshan Kumar said that beside registration of an FIR by the police on the basis of the complaint filed by the department, the senior officials of the RDD in Kishtwar District beside concern BDO has been asked to submit a detail report on the incident. He said that department will issue a formal order on Monday in connection with the departmental inquiry required to be conducted in this incident.
Meanwhile, the role of several corrupt RDD officials who are under lens of State Information Commissioner (SIC) for violation of RTI Act are under scanner as the finger of suspicious was hitting towards a sabotage as the area where this fire incident took place has no electricity beside the building which was gutted in this fire incident is newly constructed.
A senior police official told the "Early Times" that in connection with a corruption complaint, Kishtwar police also seek the record from the officials of RDD Marwah which was not provided by them despite repeated request. He said that police will probe the case on all possible angles added that FSL team has already been rush to the spot to collect the samples from the building which was gutted in the fire incident on Saturday night.
It is pertinent to mention that after getting dejected from the corrupt system where even the directions of SIC with regard to providing information under RTI Act 2009 are being put into dustbin, the RTI activist from Marwah allege that he was facing threat perception from former BDO Marwah (Now attach in the office of Director RDD Jammu) finally seek the asylum to Director Anti Corruption Bureau with the request to probe into the mass scale bungling and embezzlements in the RDD Blocks of Marwah and Warwan as denial of information under RTI act 2009 that too even after the directions from SIC itself reflect that the RDD officials who remain posted in Marwah and Warwan blocks of Kishtwar District are hiding the documents that can lead to unearthing of mass scale bungling and embezzlement in both the blocks runs into several crorers.
As reported by "Early Times" in its 20-7-2019 edition, RTI activist Abid Hussain Lone filled a complaint with Director Anti Corruption Burea on his email address regarding the " Multi crore embezzlement/misappropriation and bungling under several schemes by RDD block Marwah (Kishtwar District" and Harassment to information seeker" as the title of the complaint.
In his complaint, RTI Activist who is local educated youth from Marwah request Director ACB to get FIR registered against Ex BDO Marwah (Kishtwar) for harassment to complainant and non compliance to the Final Order of SIC Jammu by non furnishing ,denying, refusing and hiding information /particulars under J&K RTI Act 2009 -which is violation of RTI Act sections and contempt of quasi-Judicial Court /Authority.
