KUPWARA, Aug 4: The army today said they offered Pakistan to retrieve the bodies of their personnel killed at Keran sector on Saturday but Pakistan has shown no response.
Defence sources told early times that army offered Pakistan to retrieve the bodies of their men killed at Keran sector yesterday but there is no response from them.
The army had claimed to have foiled seven militants after foiling a BAT action at Keran sector on Saturday, said sources.
15 grenades recovered from tailoring shop after blast which killed man in North Kashmir's Kupwara
Meanwhile there are reports that, 15 hand grenades have been recovered from tailoring shop after blast which killed man in North Kashmir's Kupwara district on Sunday.
The owner of the tailoring shop in which one person died earlier on Sunday has been arrested as 15 hand grenades have been recovered from his shop in Ferkiyan area of Keran near Line of Control (LoC).
Soon after the explosion took place inside the shop, leading to the death of one person identified as Abdul Hamid Bajad, a joint team of security forces had reached on spot, said reports.
Reports said that during the searches by the joint team, 15 hand grenades were recovered from the shop.
Joint team arrested the shop owner, tailor master Parvez Khawaja, and he is being questioned in connection with the recovery of the grenades, said reports.
However sources said that the explosion which took place in the morning was due to the grenade blast, while as police is doing further investigations in this regard.
Police termed the recovery of hand grenades a "major success" particularly for the fact that the area is dominated by the army's presence.
Meanwhile sources told ET that a person was killed in a mysterious blast at Farkiyan area of Keran along Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Sunday.
Reports said that today morning at around 9:10 am some explosive material went off inside a tailoring shop at Ferkiyan.
In the blast, one person namely Abdul Hamid Bajad of Farkiyan Keran received critical wounds and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors, they said.
While as police has registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigations in this regard, sources informed.
