Jammu, Aug 4: Kabir Jayanti was celebrated at Panchyat Haripur Marh at Manav Kalwan Marg Ashram. The function was graced by Darshan Lal as chief guest. The flag hosting was done in presence of Chief Guest by Sarpanch Balbir Bhagat
Speaking at the function Darshan Lal said that Kabir Jayanti is annual event that is observed in the honour of Sant Kabir Das. Sant Kabir Das was a very renowned saint, poet and social reformer of India who lived during the 15th century. His esteemed works and poems describe the greatness and oneness of the Supreme Being.
On the occasion of Kabir Jayanti, the followers of this great saint dedicate the day completely in his remembrance. On this day we recite poems of Sant Kabir Das and take lessons from his teachings.
Various meetings and satsangs are also held in different Ashrams. Sant Kabir Das is still alive in our heart and of his followers and devotees who follow his sermons in his poems and two-line couplets known as 'Kabir ke Dohe'.
