| Court rejects bail plea of accused drug peddler | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 10: City Judge Jammu Prem Sagar rejected the bail application of Shokat ali S/o Nazir Ahmed from whose possession heroine was recovered.
City Judge Jammu Prem Sagar after hearing Sr. PO Raj Kumar for the State observed that statements of material witnesses are yet to be examined/recorded and the source of the narcotic seized is yet to be ascertained. Investigation of the case is at initial stage.
Though the offence committed by the accused person is "Bailable" in nature but its impact on the society at large is very detrimental particularly for the youngsters who are failling easy prey to the drug traffickers who allure them and selling of narcotics is creating havoc in society. Though bail is a rule and jail is an exception but the duty of the Court is paramount particularly when the offences are under NDPS Act and court must exercise the discretion of bail judicially. With these observations Court rejected the bail plea. |
