Curfew relaxed in Doda, Kishtwar as normalcy limps back

JAMMU, Aug 10: The normalcy in twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar started limping back on track following the scraping of Article 370 and 35 A of the constitution.
As per the details available with Early Times, the administration in both Doda and Kishtwar Districts today decided to give relaxation in curfew hours as a result of which large number of people rush to the market to purchase essential commodities as well as the medicines.The curfew in Doda town though lifted in early hours of the morning, but in Kishtwar it was relaxed only in the afternoon till 7 PM.
Earlier the curfew was relaxed for two hours, but prevailing peaceful situation, same was extended till 7 PM, however people were allowed to move beyond the 7 PM schedule as the things passed off peacefully.
Speaking to Early Times, the people urged upon the government to restore mobile calling facilities in the Chenab valley as no untoward incident was reported from any part of the velley.
Several security personnel were seen lined up at BSNL exchange, DC office and at private homes wherever landline was facility was available.
"We were told that mobile calling services will be restored within 5 days-- but same was not restored even after 6th day today" said a security personnel waiting for calling at BSNL exchange Kishtwar.
They also said that there family members might be worried for their well being. A family from a Kerala who were teaching at a Nursing College of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University at Kishtwar along with a women from UP rushed to the house of one local Touseef Mustafa Wani for contacting their family members. Both felt happy after they managed to contact the family members back at home.
Touseef Wani told the Early Times that several security personnel on duty in vicinity to his home also rushed to his home for establishing contact back at home.
He said that he can understand the feeling of being away from home added that he himself told the other security personnel to use his home landline number for establishing the contact with their families.
Similar is the condition at the home of one Kuldeep Gupta where large number of his neighbours rushed for contacting family members and their children's studying outside.
