DDC reviews arrangements for Independence Day in Samba

SAMBA Aug 10: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today reviewed arrangements for smooth and successful conduct of forthcoming 72nd Independence Day in the district during a meeting of district Officers.
Additional District Development Commissioner Arvind Kotwal, Senior Superintendent of Police Shakti Pathak, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Vikas Gupta, PO ICDS Jyoti Rani Salathia, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kulbhushan Khajuria, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD Division, besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During thé meeting, it was informed that the main function shall be organised in the Sports Stadium where the VIP will unfurl the Tricolor and take salute at the March past by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children. Besides, a colorful cultural programme will be presented by the school children in collaboration with Cultural Academy Samba.
The DDC constituted a Committee of officers under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner comprising members from Police, Army, PWD and other Departments to monitor the arrangements for the function.
Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which included security, drinking water facility at the venue,
cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, power supply refreshments and others.
DDC asked the SSP to ensure fool proof security arrangements during the celebration of the National Day.
DDC directed Executive Engineer PDD and EO Municipality to replace and repair all the street and flood lights in the town besides ensuring installation of adequate lighting at the venue for security reasons. It was also informed that the Independence Day full dress rehearsal will be held on 13th of August 2019.
