GDC Thannamandi celebrates golden jubilee of NSS

Thanamandi, Sept 24: NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi celebrated the golden jubilee of NSS with great enthusiasm. Prof. (Dr.) Javid Ahmad Qazi, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.
Programme officer of NSS unit Prof. Saleem Ayaaz Rather, welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted the importance of the NSS activities.
Early, the programme started with the recitation of few verses of the Holy Quran by Mohd Touquer. A large gathering of students took part in the programme and presented various cultural activities. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college stressed on inculcation of moral and social values among the students through participation in the NSS activities.
He also talked about the importance of moral education and advised students to take part in every extra-curricular activity besides academics. Prof. (Dr.) Naim-u-Nisa, Prof. (Dr.) Khalid Rayaz, Prof. Rizwan Khan, Prof. Fatima, Prof. Mohd Ibrahim Dr. Gowar Wani, Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmed, Dr. Latief Ahmed, Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed were among the other dignitaries who attended this programme. Two NSS volunteers namely Miss Atiya and Miss Areej Fatima compared the programme. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Khalid Rayaz.
