| Local Bus Stand, other areas grappling with insanitation problems | | MC Poonch makes mockery of 'Swachhta Programme' | |  Rajesh Tandon

POONCH, Sept 24: Municipal Council Poonch seems to be non-serious about real essence of Swachhta programme as it has been organizing various awareness programmes but the Bus Stand Poonch and other public areas in the city are grappling with the problem of insanitation.
These days MC Poonch has been organizing programmes on cleanliness, which can be seen in the pictures, to create awareness among the masses by spending huge public money but it hardly pays attention to the insanitation problem in many public areas including Bus Stand where huge piles of garbage and pits of water can be seen at any point of time.
MC is hardly bother to take this issue seriously by the making it clean but it is busy in organizing programme and spending public exchequer. "Bus Stand has been remained unattended by the MC Poonch, which makes the people visiting there to stand for even for a while but they had to bear with this unhygienic condition and the authority concerned act as mute spectator," said Rahul, Aryan, the locals.
They further said that instead of the organizing programme, it should work on ground by launching cleanliness drive in such places which is the main job of MC Poonch. Funds which are being spent on these programmes should be utilized in cleanliness of such public places. |
