Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Two weeks after the demolition of an illegal boundary wall on government land near District Hospital Udhampur, the violators have erected one more such wall, now at the Dhar Road side near Grand King Hotel, here leaving the authorities red-faced and public watching all this drama with raised eyebrows. When contacted Tehsildar, Mohit said that the road comes under the jurisdiction of GREF and we informed the GREF authorities about this matter.
He said that all illegal structures whether old or new raised in Udhampur under municipal limits as well as rural areas will be demolished within days.
It is pertinent to mention here that two weeks ago Early Times under the caption 'Nallahs, adjoining lands in town free to grab' had published an exclusive news item on illegal constructions in the town after which the concerned authorities swung into action and the illegally constructed wall and other structures were demolished but within two weeks, a person raised illegal boundary wall on the side of Dhar road near Grand King Hotel without any care or concern of administration Building over Nallah by influential people was exposed in that news story apart from such structures at Kapry, MH, near ISCKON temple, Hospital road etc.
The public at large had expressed resentment against the inefficiency of municipal and other authorities to act against the land grabbing and illegal constructions.
