DSEJ organizes Play competition to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti
Students portray Gandhian philosophy in artistic way

JAMMU, Sept 24: Directorate Of School Education Jammu today organized provincial level Play competition to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in which students of different schools of Jammu province displayed their talent through plays on life events of Mahatma Gandhi and Gandhian philosophy.
Chief Education Officer Jammu, Sat Pal Sharma inaugurated the function as chief guest.
The plays conveyed the message of non violence, truth, brotherhood, evils of un-touchability, women empowerment, etc in an effective manner and drew thunderous applause from the audience.
The students enacting various characters did full justice to their roles and received standing ovation several times. Subash Jamwal, Sunil Sharma and Sunaina Kumari acted as jury members and adjudged the play presented by the students of Govt. Higher Secondary school Kanna Chhargal of District Jammu as the winner of the First Prize while the Second prize was fetched by Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi and Third Prize was shared by Girls Higher secondary School Canal Road and Girls Higher secondary School Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest appreciated the hard work and talent of the participating students and exhorted them to follow the Gandhian ideas for living a meaningful life.
