Mass awareness programme on drug abuse organized

Jammu, Sept 24: To create awareness among the school going children against the abuses of drugs and growing drug menace in the society, District Police Reasi started mass awareness programme on Anti-Drug abuse in the whole District Reasi.
In this series, an awareness programme cum lecture was organized at Higher Secondary School Bharakh, Pouni by Mumtaz Ali Bhatti JKPS, Dy.SP DAR Reasi in which he spoke in length about the menace of drugs abuse, ill effects of drug abuses on the health of an individual and socio-economic effects of drug abuse on the family and society as a whole.*
While speaking on the occasion Mumtaz Ali Bhatti Dy.SP described the drug menace as an epidemic which is spoiling the future of the nation as a termite and sought the help of the youth in curbing the drug menace.
The programme was conducted in a very cordial environment followed by an interactive session in which some students also shared their views about the de- addiction by their relatives from the menace of alcohol.
Those present on the occasion were S.P Khajuria Prinicipal Higher Secondary School Bharakh, Sumit Sharma SHO P/s Pouni, School Staff and Police Officers.
