| Information Deptt, SWD conduct awareness meet on POCSO at HSS | | |  Early Times Report
Katra, Sept 24: Department of Information and Public Relations, Reasi in collaboration with Social Welfare Department today organised an awareness programme on POCSO Act at Government Higher Secondary School, Katra.
Tehsildar Katra, Sunil Sharma, Principal Narinder Sharma and other officers and officials of Information department and SWD were present on the occasion.
During the programme, the participants were educated about different provisions of the Act which deals with their protection from sexual offences while safeguarding the interests of the child at every stage of the judicial process through incorporation of child friendly mechanisms for reporting, recording of evidence, investigation and speedy trial of offences through the designated special courts.
District Social Welfare Officer, Gulshan Kumar, who is also District Child Protection Officer, enlightened the participants about various features of the Act and the provisions therein to safeguard their rightful dignity.
