Jammu, Sept 27: Humanity Public School (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, Samba) is celebrating Sports cum athletics meet in its premises.
On the opening ceremony Col. Navneet Kumar (Deputy Commander, Artillery Brigade) was the Chief Guest.
He declared the sports meet open by lighting the traditional lamp in presence of B.D.Sharama (Deputy Chief Education Officer, Samba), Sunil Kumar (District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Samba), Govind Singh (Zonal Physical Education Officer, Purmandal), Anil Kumar (Corporator, Ward No.68, JMC), Tarsem Thappa (Councillor, ward no. 7, M.C, Bari Brahmana), Bimla Devi (Councillor, ward no.8, M.C, B.B), Gaurav Charak (Principal), Anku Charak (V. Principal), Akashdeep Raina (Incharge) & other dignitaries.
In his inaugural speech the Chief Guest said that sports make one's life disciplined, with the help of games & sports one learns cooperation, coordination, leadership, tolerance etc.
The programme started with Ganesh Vandana followed by march past by all the four houses. The main attractions of the First day were Inter-House Matches of Basket ball (Boys & Girls), Volley ball (Boys & Girls), Kabaddi (Boys & Girls), Spoon-Lemon race of 1st & 2nd Classes (Girls), Tug of War (Senior Boys), One Leg Race of 1st & 2nd classes (Boys), Three Leg Race of 3rd & 4th classes (Girls), Brick Race of 8th & 10th classes, Needle & Thread Race of 9th class, Crawl Walk by 8th class (Boys), Long Jump, Martial Arts & Speed ball.
