POONCH, Sept 27: The incumbent President of Municipal Council Poonch, Sunil Sharma has come on forefront against the Urban Local Bodies department in connection with allotment of various development works without inviting tenders.
Sunil Sharma accused the department of allotting development works without tenders in three wards. "We have spotted that many works, which are being carried out in Wards No 9, 11, 15 of Municipal Council Poonch without inviting tenders and completing requisite formalities which is grave violation of the laid down rules. Moreover, it has been found that no technical sanctions have been sought from the concerned officer," he alleged further adding that the street tiles works are being carried out without following codal formalities which raises the question on quality of works.
He further said that he lodged several complaints with ULB Department against this gross violation. "I have also has written to Advisor to Government KK Sharma, who looks after Housing and Urban Development Department about this malpractice and has sought his intervention," said Sunil Sharma. He further alleged the despite asking for the details of the works being done in the above said wards from the department, he has not received any reply till date which also shows that something is wrong. He appealed to the Vigilance Organization and concerned District Development Commissioner to take note of the matter so that corrupt should be brought to book. |
