DIPR organizes Cultural cum Awareness programme to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

JAMMU, Oct 2: Department of Information and Public Relations today organized a Cultural cum Awareness programme to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi here at Auditorium of Information Department. The theme of the programme is "Swachhta hi Sewa hai" with special focus on "Say No to Single Use Plastic".
While addressing the gathering, Joint Director, Information, Jammu, Naresh Kumar highlighted the importance of cleanliness and bad effects of use of Plastic. He also administered the oath among the gathering to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.
A scintillating performance was presented by artists of cultural wing of the department along with renowned artists including Asha Kesar and team performing Dogri Folk Song while Shazi Khan and group presented a short play on cleanliness.
Among others, Deputy Director Information (AV), Rakesh Dubey, Deputy Director, Information (HQ) , Rehana Akhtar Bijli, Cultural Officer Jammu, Parul Khajuria, Field Publicity Officer, Jammu, Vipan Bhagat, Photo Officer Jammu, Ahmad Khan, staff members of Information Department besides a large number of prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
