Dr Sehrish calls for end to single use plastic in DIPR premises

SRINAGAR, Oct 2: On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, Director Information and Public Relations Dr Sehrish Asgar asked officials to discourage single use plastic in office premises besides pledging to keep environment clean.
The Director Information today presided over a function here at the Auditorium of DIPR. Senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
Highlighting the ill effects of the Single Use Plastic and Polythene on the environment, the Director asked the participants to take a pledge for discouraging its use as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been stressing in his speeches under the Swachhta hi Sewa hai campaign.
Dr. Sehrish remembered the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in changing the lives of millions of people in India based on the principle of non-violence.
She added that in the present times we should impart and encourage teachings of non-violence particularly among the children.
On the occasion, the employees of Information Department and Public Relations also took pledge to stop using single use plastic in the offices and encouraging the same in their localities.
During the event, the cultural wing of the department presented various items which were applauded by the audience.
