| 5 drug peddlers arrested | | |

Samba, Nov 6: In a major breakthrough, District Police Samba has arrested five drug peddlers and recovered 1347 Nos. of Intoxicant Capsules (Parvon-Spas) and 45 Nos. of Intoxicant Tablets (Nitravet) from their possession in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal & Samba.
Acting on tip off information, a Police Party of P/S Ghagwal headed by SHO P/S Ghagwal, Inspr. Sudhir Sadhotra under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs. Samba, Sh. Tilak Raj Bhardwaj immediately swung into action and intercepted a red colour Splendour bike without Regd. No. coming from Kathua side at Naka NHW Tapyal.
During frisking of motor cyclist and other two pillion riders, a total of 1250 Nos. of intoxicant capsules (Parvon-Spas) and 45 Nos. of intoxicant tablets (Nitravet) were recovered from their possession. All the three accused persons identified as 1) Surjeet Singh @ Sanju S/o Dalbir Singh R/o Gurha Slathia A/P Parliawand, Kathua 2) Badal Singh S/o Sukhdev Singh R/o Samba 3) Nikhil Singh S/o Rajesh Singh R/o Kehli Mandi Samba have been arrested and the contraband items were also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 99/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stand registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started. |
