SC, ST corporation organizes mega awareness, medical camp

Billawar, Dec 18: The J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward classes Development Corporation today organized a mega Awareness cum Medical camp in Billawar.
The Managing Director of the Corporation Dr. Bharat Bhushan who was the chief guest declared the camp open in Dharamkote, Billawar by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Gulshan Kumar Paharia, Senior Manager from National Schedule Castes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, was the guest of honour on the occasion. The Deputy Director, Employment Kathua Sh. D.C Bhatti, Block Medical Officer, Billawar, Dr. Rajinder Kumar Thappa and Lead Bank District Manager Sardar Narayan Singh, were the special guests on the occasion.
A large number of people from Billawar, Dharamkote, Deoli, Garh, Malti, Phinter, Dhungara, Bhaddu and other adjoining areas were present on the occasion.
The Deputy General Manager ( Projects) of the Corporation Iqbal Kataria apprised the gathering in detail about the schemes of the Corporation and how people can take benefit of the schemes.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director of the Corporation apprised that corporation offers soft loans at very nominal rate of interest so that poor people and educated unemployed youth can start up their own income generating units and improve their economic condition and quality of life.
The notable feature of the camp was the medical checkup of the rural people present on the occasion by Block Medical Officer, Billawar, Dr. Rajinder Kumar Thappa. The team which checked the patients and provided them medical consultation and medicines also included Dr. Vinod Mehra, Dental Surgeon, Dr. Ankush Gupta, Medical Officer (ISM), Dr. Neha Raina, Medical Officer (ISM),Pharmacist Mukesh Singh and Smt. Uparika Sharma FMPHW.
The Deputy Director, Employment Sh. D C Bhatti, , LDM Sh. Narayan Singh and Smt. Koshyala Devi Sarpanch of the Panchayat also spoke on the occasion.
The Naib Tehsildar of the area , Nardev Singh, Inspector Panchayats, Rajinder Parshad, Headmaster Govt High School, Dharamkote and a large number of Panches were present on the occasion. The General Manager of the Corporation Ghulam Qadir Khatana presented vote of thanks and responded to the queries of the people present on the occasion.
