DDC discusses road safety action plan 2019-20

UDHAMPUR, Dec 18: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting with officers of different departments to review the implementation of road safety action plan for the year 2019-20 and assessment of the road safety measures, traffic management plan on NH-44, Dhar road and internal roads in the city.
The meeting was attended by SSP Udhampur Rajiv Om Parkash Pandey, SSP Traffic J S Johar, ADDC Ashok Kumar, ADC Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh, ACD Mushtaq Choudhary, ACR Vikar Giri, SDM Chenani Abdul Sattar, DSP Traffic Mujeeb Ul Rehman, DSP HQ Rohit Chadgal, ARTO Rachna Sharma, DIO Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, ETO Rupali Vaid, Chief Education Officer P.D Sharma, Tehsildar Udhampur Mohit Gupta and other officers from NHAI, BRO, Gammon and other officers from concerned departments.
DDC asked traffic police to install plastic cone divides from Omara to APS, Domail to MH Chowk, Shiv Nagar area to check the traffic congestion. Tehsildar and CEO MC were directed to start anti encroachment drive in the city area to de- congest the traffic flow. Tehsildar was also asked to vacate the acquired land of New Bus Stand. DC asked the traffic and district police that no heavy vehicles should be allowed to enter city area except "FCI and Oil Tankers". DDC asked the traffic police and District Police to prepare an induction traffic plan at Phalatta. He also instructed the CEO, Udhampur to organize different awareness programme in government schools on road safety measures in the district. While express concern over the road accidents in the year the DDC directed all the departments to remain vigilant and take strict action against traffic violations.
