Is BJP leader befooling affected farmers like Sarore Toll Plaza issue?
12/22/2019 11:22:55 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: After befooling people on Jammu on Sarore toll plaze issue, BJP is now trying to hoodwink innocent farmers who have lost two successive crops due to hailstorm and rains.
Thousands of farmers of Jammu region have lost their rabi and kharif crops but instead of taking their issues strongly with the government, BJP leader has written a symbolic letter to the higher-ups to give compensation.
Shockingly farmers have lost paddy and now wheat crops but leadership is shamelessly involved into just petty politics to befool innocent farmers.
Important to recall here that after facing criticism for the operationalisation of the new toll plaza on the Jammu-Pathankot highway in the Sarore area of Samba district, the BJP leader claimed to write a letter to the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on October 12 requesting him to scrap the "entire plan of establishing the toll plaza". Shockingly two months have been passed but nothing has been done in this regard. It appears that BJP leader’s letter was nothing but an attempt to befool people.
Similarly on December 13, BJP leader, in a letter, has urged the Lt Governor Girish Chander Murmu to issue directives to Revenue authorities to assess the losses of crops damaged by recent rains and hailstorm in Jammu region and provide compensation to farmers. Interestingly after passing of six days, nothing has been done to assess losses.
"I would like to apprise you that the disaster caused due to the untimely rains in whole of the Jammu region. It has been brought to my notice by the various deputations of the farmers, NGOs etc. that the untimely rain for the last one and half month in the Jammu region has caused heavy damages in the Jammu region which has shattered the hopes of the farmers and they are in distress", BJP leader stated in his letter.
On Sunday, BJP leader visited border villages, interacted with the local farmers to assess the loss suffered due to the havoc caused by the heavy downpour witnessed. He expressed his shock and disbelief over the wretched conditions of the fields rendered useless by the water-logging. Farmers narrated the story of their plight to the senior party leaders while calling their assistance through some agency.
