Upgrade ESI hospital Bari Brahmana : BBIA

JAMMU, Dec 23: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) held a meeting and urged that the ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana must be upgraded from 50 Bedded to 100 Bedded as early as possible which will provide great relief to the Insured Persons registered with the ESI Corporation.
It is pertinent to mention here that at present 70,000 Insured Persons registered under the ESI Scheme with the Regional Director ESI Corporation Jammu whereas the Hospital Facility is available on the basis of 50,000 Insured persons with the provision of 50 Bedded Hospital as per the Norms.
They added that the present Limited Health Facility in ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana, which is equipped to cater the Healthcare Facility for 50000 Insured persons under ESI Scheme, the ESI Hospital Administration is facing problem to provide the requisite Outdoor/Indoor Healthcare Facility to the Registered Insured Persons and have no option but to refer the Patients to Designated Healthcare Institutes within/ Outside the State for Specialized treatment resulting the inconvenience to the Insured Persons and also additional Expenditure to the ESI Corporation also.
"We are expecting huge Investment in the Industrial Sector in near future for which the Industries Department is working under the guidance of Lt. Governor of our State to hold an Investor Summit shortly and with the Establishment of New Units in near future, the registered nos. of Insured Persons with ESIC may be increased in many fold and it is the need of the hour to take immediate steps to Up-Grade the Existing Facility of ESIC accordingly for which the matter regarding the Up gradation of the Hospital from 50 Bedded to 100 Bedded already taken up by our Association with the Union Health Minister since last so many months, " they said.
They requested Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to kindly take up the matter with the Union Health Minister to resolve the issue on priority basis.
