| J&K Panchayat Conference begins hunger strike for release of MGNREGA funds | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 23: Panches and Sarpanches of block Majalta and Khoon sat on chain hunger strike in front of Tehsil office Majalta under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference.
Rajesh Kumar Sarpanch and Co-ordinator of Majalta Block also preside over the hunger strike. The main demands of panchayat conference to clear 1000 crores liabilities of MGNEREGA which is pending from 2014 to 2019, increase salary of panches from Rs:1000-to Rs:10000-and for sarpanches Rs:2500/- to Rs:25000/- per month ,implementation of 73rd amendment bill in total as implemented in other states /union territories in India, release Rs:25 Lacs annually in every panchayat in our Union Territire as there is no hurdle of Article 370 in the UT.
It is also demanded that Panchayat Ghar may also be constructed in left over panchayats and a chowkidar may also be appointed in every panchayat for smooth running the panchayat Ghar.
The chain hunger strike will continue upto December 30th in remaining blocks of our District .
If the Government will not redress their grievance in the end of this month, then our All J&K Panchayat conference will start district level chain hungerstrike in every districts of Union Territory. |
