| NC workers stage protest at Marh | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 23: A protest Dharna was organized and observed at Marh by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Blocks Marh and Mandal of Marh Assembly Constituency, to project the burning problems of Kisans due to untimely heavy rains to which Government has shut eyes and ears.
Addressing the Dharna, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Former Minister and Senior leader Jammu and Kashmir National Conference expressed serious concern over the loss of Paddy Crop and loss to recently sown wheat crop in Jammu region especially Marh and Mandal Blocks of Marh Assembly Constituency. Sadhotra alleged that BJP government has gone in deep slumber viz-a-viz Kisan problems. Since BJP Government has come to power at the centre and in Jammu and Kashmir the problems of Kisans have increased many folds and government has totally failed and ignored Kisans and BJP Government has become deaf and blind towards the genuine problems of the Kisans due to untimely heavy rains.
The Kisans could not take harvested paddy crop out of their fields and even Kisans could not sow wheat crop as the fields are still filled with water and in certain cases wheat was sown but did not germinate. The Rice out of this Paddy crop has become black and there is no taker, even Food Corporation of India (FCI) has refused to take. It has caused huge loss to Kisans. Already cost of Farming is very high as labour and inputs have shoot up. |
