Navin reviews functioning of I&C, Tourism Deptts

JAMMU, DEC 23: Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce and Tourism, Navin Kumar Choudhary today asked the twin Departments to make optimum use of assets and land owned by them.
Navin was chairing a meeting of senior officers to review various issues pertaining to Industries and Commerce and Tourism Departments.
The meeting was attended by MD State Industrial Development Corporation, Ravinder Kumar; Director Tourism, Deepika K Sharma; Additional Secretary Tourism; Gulzar Ahmad Dar; Director Handicraft Masrat-ul-Islam; Director Industries and Commerce Jammu, Anoo Malhotra; Director Handloom Development, Babila Rakwal; MD JK Minerals Limited, Vikas Gupta; MD JK Cement Limited, Ishtiaq Hussain; Director Geology and Mining J&K Vikas Sharma; MD JK SICOP, Atul Sharma; Director JK JKEDI, Tuffail Matoo; besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
The Principal Secretary asked both the departments to sort out all pending issues and ensure fencing of land under their possession for its optimum utilization. He directed the concerned officers to constitute a committee to streamline the trade, e-auction and other activities.
"The concerned committee will also review the rules of recruitments for the JK Tourism Development Corporation / Industries and Commerce and circulate it to all the concerned authorities, "he added. He further directed for unification of base fare for all outsourced ventures of JK Tourism Development Corporation.
Navin also directed the Industries and Commerce Department to take possession of the acquired land, for which it has already paid, and fence it as early as possible.
He also stressed upon the officers of Geology and Mining Department to take necessary steps to check illegal mining and follow the guidelines of Supreme Court in this regard.
