| KVK Jammu organises Kisan Diwas | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 23: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Jammu organized Kisan Diwas on the directions of Dr. K.S.Risam Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu at village Kotla (Arnia) on 23rd of December, 2019 to celebrate the birth anniversary of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh. The programme was organized with the objective to promote awareness among the citizens to understand the importance of the contributions of the farmers to the society and overall economic and social development of a country. During the programme, Dr. Ravneet Kour Scientist Horticulture KVK Jammu highlighted the role of the farmers in the economic development of the nation and suggested that farmers can contribute in better way if they adopt vegetable farming. Dr. Sheetal Badyal Scientist Home Science highlighted that more than 40% of the total employment in India is generated in the agriculture sector. Dr. Prem Kumar Scientist Fisheries applauded the contributions of the farmers and highlighted that you are the ones who put your heart and soul into the soil to give it life and give us food. So we are thankful for your efforts and salute your hard work.
