| People held protest against alleged misbehave by cops | | |

Kishtwar, Dec 23: The people including women from Hasti and its adjoining areas today held a strong protest against the alleged misbehaviour by some cops at Salimar Check post after they allegedly manhandled the local driver despite he had no overloading in his vehicle. As per the details available with Early Times, driver Adil Hussain Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmed Sheikh R/o Hasti while on its way from Kishtwar to Sarthal along with his vehicle No.JK17-3231 was stopped at traffic check post wherein some cops along with few renegades objected him over adjustment of two passengers on front seat to which both the women passengers and the driver clarified that according to the agitating people didn't gone well with them and in return they hit the driver of the vehicle and dragged him outside the vehicle. After manhandling the driver of the vehicle, some cops allegedly shouted towards security forces to shot at him on the pretext of declaring him as terrorist in front of the security personals and with the timely intervention of the people of on spot- the situation was brought under control following which the locals assembled at the spot and held protest against the traffic cops and renegades. The issue was however later resolved with the intervention of SHO Police Station Kishtwar who rush to the spot after hearing about the incident as well as the protest. |
