REASI, DECEMBER 24: District Development Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib today held a public darbar at village Sailanjan of block Thakrakote of the district.
The DDC spoke to the people and informed that the NHPC Limited is going to invest heavily in development of Bidda and Sailanjan villages of the district within next three years. The funds would be allocated under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
DGM NHPC Project, Salal, Gursharan Singh accompanied the DDC and briefed her about various activities which are to be taken up by NHPC under CSR. Majority of works included development of school infrastructure by construction of boundary walls, play grounds, renovation of existing school campuses, providing furniture and sports equipment, electrical appliances and providing coaching classes after school hours.
In addition to the above mentioned, the corporation would help in the development of the area by building medical dispensary, community hall, community toilets, public parks, installing solar lights, construction of lanes, drains, augmentation of existing water supply system and erection of water tanks, and construction of retaining walls and drains on existing roads of the village.
The locals appreciated the endeavours of the NHPC and also raised their routine issues which were patiently listened to by the DDC and her team of district officers.
