| ADC Rajouri reviews District Disaster Management Plan | | |
RAJOURI, DECEMBER 24: Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh today convened a meeting to review the District Disaster Management Plan and response preparedness in case of any emergency in the district.
The meeting was attended by SE PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control, Deputy Director Planning Bila Ahmed Mir, Executive Engineer PWD, Irrigation and Flood control and other concerned officers.
Detailed discussion was held on the issues like procurement of rescue equipment, conduct of workshops on Disaster preparedness, Publicity of disaster related awareness programme in print and social media, conduct of capacity building trainings on Disaster preparedness, data preparation of total number of volunteers with Civil Defence, SDRF & Red Cross, community based disaster management, besides financial aspects and other vital issues.
The ADC directed PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE and other concerned departments to keep their men and machinery ready with other rescue equipment to avert any eventuality.
Irrigation and Flood control Department was directed to remove the encroachment along the flood zones. He directed the concerned departments to prepare a module of disaster management and organize awareness camps and also train volunteers including students with special focus on first-aid and other rescue techniques to minimize losses during any disaster.
He also asked for constitution of joint committees at tehsil headquarters. The ADC directed the concerned officers to conduct their zone wise mapping of the vulnerable/hazard areas so that timely measures are initiated proactively.
Health Department was directed to keep 25 beds reserved as a part of the disaster management. Assistant Director FCS&CA was asked to furnish a detail report about the availability of the ration and tehsil wise number of ration dealers.
He called for maintaining close coordination among different departments and agencies to safeguard life and property in case of any eventuality arising due to natural calamities or cross border firing. |
