EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Dec 24: Despite Chief Engineer PWD Jammu’s clear instructions to withhold the salaries of those clerical staff who didn’t join new places of postings after getting transferred in first week of August this year, the Ministerial Staff (Junior and Senior Assistants) in Public Works Department (PWD, R&B) Udhampur-Katra have managed to get their perks released.
It is pertinent to mention here that the transferred junior and senior assistants are making frantic efforts to modify their transfers to get some prize postings whereas the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu issued two written reminders with respect to transferred clerical staff’s failure to join their new places of postings on August 26, 2019 and September 5, 2019 and had withheld salaries of the erring employees. It was on August 3, 2019 that the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu had issued Order No CEJ/Estab-6145-50 of transfers and postings of 17 employees of ministerial staff, however, 9 senior and 8t junior assistants of the department did not join their new places of postings and till date the situation as far as their joining is concerned remains the same.
When contacted, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Udhampur Pawan Gupta said that he has joined recently and is not aware of the matter. “But I will look into it,” he said.
When contacted the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu Nasir Goni said that strict action will be taken against the erring officials as well as the then Executive Engineer who released the salaries transferred clerical staff and who have not joined their new places of postings.
