| ADC issues directions to PWD to take action | | Substandard material being used in construction of roads in Sunderbani | |

Rajouri, Jan 1: Taking cognizance of the news items published in Early Times, Additional Development Commissioner Sunderbani issued directions to allied departments for taking strict action against the culprits for using substandard material in construction of roads.
While talking to ET, ADC Sunderbani Vinod Kumar said that he had held a meeting with engineers of Public Works Department in this connection and had issued clear instructions to look into the complaints.
"It has come to my information that number of complaints regarding using of substandard material in construction of roads by the contractors being received due to which roads are getting damaged. Moreover, the contractors are making delay in starting of roads work in various villages of Sunderbani area," ADC said. He further said that he had asked to PWD officials to ensure timely completion of road works. The issue has also reached in the knowledge of DC Rajouri, who has directed the ADC Sunderbani to take note of issues.
PWD officials informed the ADC Sunderbani that department withholds some part of the payment of contractors for three years as in case of any damage, the contractors have to bear the expenses. |
