PIP to focus on HR development, new services and trainings: Atal Dulloo

JAMMU, Jan 01: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo, today chaired the Executive Committee meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Health Society. The meeting was held to discuss and finalize the Programme Implementation Plan (PIP) for financial year 2020-2021.
The FC said that the government is proposing a slew of measures in the PIP for the overall strengthening of the health care facilities. He said that the plan with string of ambitious interventions would be submitted for the approval of the Government of India.
"The department is incorporating many new initiatives in the PIP for the next financial year, which will give a major impetus to the health care services" he added.
The FC said that focus would be laid on the human resource development, making available new medical equipments, new services and training for augmenting health care services.
Mission Director, National Health Mission, Bhupinder Kumar gave a detailed presentation, highlighting the new initiatives that are to be proposed in the PIP.
The FC also directed the authorities to start oxygen generation plants in all new medical colleges. He also stressed on making Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) centres functional in all new medical colleges. He also said that emphasis will be laid on setting up hybrid ICUs in the district hospitals and ensure proper functioning of Health and Wellness Centres.
"Besides, the focus in PIP will be on Biomedical Waste Management, Biomedical Equipment Management, Diploma in National Board courses in district hospitals, augmentation of 102 and 108 ambulance services, blood collection and transportation units, provision for free drugs and diagnostic services, skill labs among other programmes and services" the FC said.
The meeting was attended by Director Health Services, Jammu, Renu Khajuria; Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Sunanda Raina; Director, Indian System of Medicine J&K, Mohan Singh; Director Family Welfare, Arun Sharma; Director Finance, H&ME, Mohammad Rafiq; Managing Director, J&K Medicines Supplies Corporation Limited, Shiv Kumar Gupta; Controller Drugs, Lokita Khajuria; Joint Director (Planning) H&ME, Madan Lal and officers from other departments. Other officials from Kashmir division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
