Div Com reviews implementation of RNTCP, RBSK and other health schemes
Asks to organize special camps in remote areas for more awareness of schemes

JAMMU, Jan 9: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP), Nikshay Poshan Yojana, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and other related schemes pertaining to health department.
The meeting was attended by Principal GMC, Dr Sunanda, AD Schemes Jammu, Dr Sunil Sharma, J&K TB Officer, Dr Sanjay Turki, DTO Jammu, Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, Secretary Red Cross Society, Dinesh Gupta, Deputy Director Health Services and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with CMOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The CMOs and DTOs informed about the number of active case findings and under treatment patients in their respective districts.
They also informed about the number of patients who are being provided proper diagnose and treatment in their respective districts and further informed about the patients given financial assistance for treatment under various government schemes.
While reviewing the implementation of RBSK the concerned officers apprised the Div Com of total number of schools visited and number of children found positive for identified health conditions in all districts of the division.
It was informed in the meeting that RBSK is a new initiative aimed at screening of children from 0 to 18 years for 4 Ds – Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Development Delays including Disabilities. Children diagnosed with illnesses shall receive follow up including surgeries at tertiary level, free of cost under NRHM.
The Div Com directed the concerned officers to organize special medical camps for screening of patients specially those belonging to remote and far off areas of the region. He further asked them to engage PRIs for this exercise and cover every village to find out every patient and provide them proper treatments. He also asked the concerned officers to keep tracking under treatment patients who are referred to various hospitals for treatment. He also underlines the need of awareness among general public about various health related schemes launched by government for financial assistance and others for which directions were issued.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened another meeting with Deputy Commissioners of border districts and reviewed the progress of under construction bunkers in border areas. The meeting was attended by CPO Jammu, Joginder Katoch, Deputy Director Planning, Chaman Lal besides Executive Engineers of PWD while Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Samba, Rajouri Poonch attended the meeting through video conferencing. The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com about the latest status of construction of individual and community bunkers in their respective districts.
The Div Com directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work for its timely completion. The Div Com also gave them monthly targets for completion. He also directed the DCs for proper monitoring of construction of bunkers on regular basis.
