9th state level exhibition and project competition organized

Jammu, Jan 9: State Institute of Education Jammu organized 9th State Level Exhibition and Project Competition (SLEPC) under INSPIRE award-MANAK Scheme 2019-20. The scheme was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology Govt. of India on 9th of January 2020 at Govt Girls High School Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The exhibition was inaugurated by Hirdesh Kumar Singh (IAS), Commissioner/Secretary to Government, School Education Department, Civil Secretariat, Jammu (J&K). Anuradha Gupta (KAS), Director School Education, Jammu and Dr. Arun Kumar Manhas (KAS), State Project Director, Samagar Shiksha, Jammu were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Apart from students and teachers, Chief Education Officers and Principal DIETs also graced the occasion.
While inaugurating the SLEPC, Hirdesh Kumar Singh applauded the participants and their innovative ideas which can be further put into practical shape for benefit of the society. Director School Education Jammu Ms Anuradha Gupta also commended the young minds for braving the harsh weather conditions to participate in the event. The exhibition displayed 136 innovative science models prepared by students of both government and private schools of Jammu Division. An independent jury comprising experts in the field of Physics, Chemistry and Bio Sciences drawn from Jammu University along with representatives of Department of Science and Technology New Delhi adjudicated the models displayed in the exhibition. Best 10% of the exhibits were selected and recommended for National Level Exhibition and Project Competition, to be held at New Delhi. In the valedictory function, the prizes were distributed to National Level Exhibits by the Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal SIE Jammu J.K.Sudan in presence of august gathering. While speaking on the occasion, J K Sudan said that these type of the events are the need of the hour to inculcate the scientific temper amongst the young taughts and keep them motivated to persue their career in science world. He also thanked Headmaster GHS Gandhi Nagar for her support and co-operation in making the event successful. The event was co-ordinated by Incharge Inspire SIE Jammu Ashu Magotra, RO with the active support and co-operation of all the staff members of SIE Jammu. The proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by Anwar Khan RO SIE Jammu.
