Majalta, Jan11: National Model Academy Kail Pardai organized a first Majalta half marathon and rally in collaboration with ICDS Majalta against drug menace, here today.
The marathon which was first in series commenced from National model Academy school Ground to Dheema and back. The theme of half-marathon is “Drug-Free Majalta”.
The half marathon and rally flagged off by DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Sujit Kumar. Jagdish Raj Sharma Chairman NMA, Nand Kishor Sharma Ex vice-chairman JCCB, SDPO Ramnagar G R Bhardwaj, CDPO Majalta Anuradha, SHO Majalta Vijay Thakur, Dr Neeraj Kesar and Puja Balgotra Administrator officer NMA, MD Nirmal Kesar and principal Raj Rani was also present.
About 600 boys and girls and 100 Anganwadi workers and helpers participated in the marathon and rally. The students of the School hold the banners showing anti-drug slogans.
Speaking on the occasion Administration officer, NMA Dr Neeraj Kesar appealed all the youth and civil societies to come along to make the Majalta drug free. Dr Neeraj demanded strict action against drug peddlers.
Chief Guest, Sujit Kumar sensitized the students of ill effects of the drugs menace.
