Moderate to heavy snow, rain in parts of J&K in coming week: MeT

Jammu, Jan 12
The Met Department has forecast moderate to heavy snowfall and rains in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The weatherman said here that currently, the weather is overcast to cloudy in both the Union Territories (UTs) of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
It was snowing lightly at some places of North Kashmir, he said, adding that in the next week, there will be moderate to heavy snowfall in most places of Jammu and Kashmir, while Jammu will receive rains.
Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will experience rainfall from tonight till January 14.
"The weather may lead to disruptions of surface and air transportation at vulnerable places like Banihal-Ramban and waterlogging in low-lying areas," he said.
The weatherman further issued warning of heavy to very heavy snowfall during January 12 to 14 at many places of the state and moderate to heavy snow at scattered places of Kargil, Leh, Zanskar and Khardungla.
In Jammu, the maximum temperature was recorded at 17.5 degree Celsius and the minimum was 7.0 degrees, while in Bhaderwah, the maximum temperature was 8.7 degrees and the minimum was minus 1.7 degrees.
