NMC demands release of pending DA instalment

JAMMU, Jan 12: President of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC)Subash Shastri today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the pending installment of 4 per cent DA due from January 1,2020 for both central/states government, UTs employees and pensioners in view of increasing inflation and prices hike of essential commodities.
Price index which was 6.89 per cent in June 30 last year increased to 12.49 per cent in December 31, 2019, and urged him to take decision in this regard at the forthcoming Union Cabinet meeting so that salaried class and pensioners would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation. "The rate of compensation was revised every six months based on average of the consumer price index for previous months and this would be the 7th biannual increase since the recommendation of the 7th pay commission which was accepted by the Central Government in 2016." Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here. Expressing deep concern over the delay in accepting the recommendations of Ashok Lavasa committee report, which has been submitted to the Finance Minister's by the committee more than two years ago adding that it will be a main major issues in the upcoming election of Delhi Assembly, he said.
