JKTF raises issue of IGNOU B.ED aspirants
1/12/2020 10:39:42 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 12: JKTF of Jammu and Kashmir addressed a press conference where the chairman Ganesh Khajuria lambasted at the IGNOU authorities for their apathetic attitude towards the teachers of J&K who are pursuing B. Ed. through IGNOU after the paper which was given by aspirants was cancelled.
The press conference was held at Hot Billion Hotel, Jammu under the Chairmanship of JKTF of Jammu and Kashmir Ganesh Khajuria.
In his address, Ganesh Khajuria lambasted at the IGNOU authorities for their apathetic attitude towards the teachers of J&K who are pursuing B. Ed. through IGNOU for which the initiative had been taken by the School Education department under the erstwhile SSA,now SAMAGRA .
He added that the amazing factor on the part of IGNOU Jammu is that they had uploaded the date sheet, hall tickets only three days before the commencement of B. Ed. examination which was utter surprising for the pupil teachers who were going to appear for the B. Ed. examination.
He further said that moreover due to the non-functioning of internet facilities in the Union Territory, teachers were unable to download their hall tickets. Even they came to know about the examination from their friends/relatives who are residing outside J&K.
He further added that the teachers who belong to the hilly, backward and snow-bound areas, however managed to download their hall tickets from the cyber cafe after travelling a long distance from their districts in this chilly weather to save their career.
"It is more astonishing that the examination center fixed by the IGNOU authorities was at a long distance, not less than 300-400 km and the teachers suffered a lot due to non-availability of accommodation thus leading to a huge monetary loss", the chairman said.
Somehow, they gave their exam but to the utter surprise, these teachers received a SMS from the IGNOU authorities that their examination in two courses viz. BES-128 and BES-129 held on 7th and 8th January, 2020 respectively has been cancelled unilaterally.
The Forum demanded the reconsideration of the decision taken by the IGNOU authorities within week's time otherwise the teachers will be forced to come on the roads and will not hesitate to opt for the legal course to secure justice against the arbitrary decision of the IGNOU authorities.
