Inflation at its peak, higher unemployment, economy declining under BJP rule: Bhalla
1/12/2020 10:43:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 12: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Sunday expressed deep shock and anguish over the killing of two Army porters including the barbaric beheading of one of them and injuries to three others in a BAT action in Poonch area by Pakistan. He condemned the Pakistan for the continued misadventure and mischief on the LoC, causing the heavy loss of lives and property to our soldiers and border residents while breaking all past records of ceasefire violations of last 16 years. Bhalla questioned the BJP and Modi Government for its failure to prevent and control Pakistan from indulging in regular mischief on borders by resorting to regular ceasefire violations and BAT actions leading to worst kind of international norms and Human Rights violations of beheading the porter.
He expressed deep sympathies of party with the families of martyred and injured and full solidarity with the Armed forces who are sacrificing their lives to defeat the proxy war of Pakistan.
Bhalla accused BJP government of creating controversies to serve its vested interests and divert the people's attention from its alleged misrule. "The uncertainty in the J&K is created by the BJP government which is responsible for creating social and political uncertainty. They can go to any extent to remain in power," he said.
Stating that the ruling BJP dispensation is responsible for the uncertainty and anguish among the people in J&K, Bhalla said that the coalition partners have failed to create atmosphere of peace in J&K, as a result, country and J&K is passing though very crucial phase leading to the deep alienation among people. He said the people are subjected to mental torture by J&K Govt in order to hide its failures, for the fact, BJP has miserably failed to deliver. The misrule and mismanagement on their part has added woes to the people, there seems no end to uncertainty prevailing in J&K.
He said all the promises made to the people by BJP after securing votes from them on sensitive issues, have fallen flat. People have realized that they have been misled very badly by BJP. Inflation is at its peak, unemployment is on record high levels, economy is declining and educational institutions are in a mess, he alleged, adding that the Modi government is "busy spreading religious tension, creating chaos and fomenting violence to deflect attention from key issues".
