Road Safety Week observed at GDC Udhampur

Udhampur, Jan 15: Government Degree College Udhampur in collaboration with Civil Defence, SDRF Department and ARTO Udhampur organized one day workshop on First AID in connection with ongoing observance of Road Safety Week. At the very outset, S.D Kotwal, Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence explained in detail the motto and objectives of Civil Defence. He advised the students not to go for rash driving and also cautioned them to bear helmet during the ride of two wheelers. He further quoted that the life is the precious gift of almighty and one should use it for the welfare of mankind. He also quoted Swami Vivekanand that besides various patriotism one should also go for practical patriotism. Vidya Sagar, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Civil Defence also shared his views with the audience on this occasion. Anil Kumar, Master Trainer, demonstrated various techniques by which one can save the precious human lives during natural disaster, manmade disaster and during the accidents and domestic incidents. During the programme the students raised many queries which were replied by the resource person to the satisfaction of the students. Besides the College staff , NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers and large number of students participated in the awareness programme.
