Union ministers to visit J&K to ‘educate’ people on govt projects

New Delhi , Jan 15: Five months after the Union government revoked Article 370, members of the Union council of ministers, including Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Prahlad Joshi, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Jitendra Singh, Giriraj Singh, Renuka Singh, Anurag Thakur are expected to visit Jammu and Kashmir later this week. The ministers will visit various districts of both Jammu and Kashmir from January 18 to 24 with the aim of informing people about the government policies initiated after the abrogation of Article 370. This is the first visit by the Union ministers after the revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
The ministers will educate people about the schemes and projects being implemented or to be implemented in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to report, Home Minister Amit Shah wanted the Union ministers to visit Jammu and Kashmir to spread the word about the government policies launched for the development of the union territory.
