Students add colors and voice their ideas about road safety

SAMBA, Jan 15: Continuing endevour to spread awareness among masses during 31st National Road Safety Week 2020. Motor Vehicles Department Samba today organized Symposium and Poster Making Competition at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Samba.
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Samba BL Sharma was chief guest on the occasion and more than 200 students from various government and private schools participated the events.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Samba appreciated the students effort to participate in large number and giving shape to their creative ideas with colors and words.
He said that such programs play pivotal role in educating students about much needed awareness about road safety.
ARTO Rehana Tabassum motivated students to actively participate in these activities to promote noble cause.
Different speakers stressed on importance of imbibing road safety habits for prosperous and long life. Students also added colors to their creativity to shape different posters depicting slogans like Learning to Drive, Think before You Drive, Make Cars Green, Accident Bring Tears Safety Bring Cheers, Don’t Drink & Drive. Later, on Principal Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Samba JK Raina presented vote of thanks.
Earlier MVD team in collaboration with Traffic Department tied reflective tapes around neck of roaming animals on national highway. Briefing about the event, MVI Surinder said that roaming animals became major cause of accident during night hours so reflective taps be tied around their neck so that their presence became visible to incoming vehicles beside enhancing safety measures.
