Children of Kissans be given Reservation: Sadhotra
2/5/2020 9:42:31 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: Addressing Kissans at Sarora in Marh Assembly Constituency Ajay Kumar Sadhotra Former Minister and Senior Leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference alleged that after scrapping of special status and lowering down State to 2 Union Territories now in the name of rationalization of reservation in jobs and professional colleges in Jammu & Kashmir is gross discrimination with the Children of Kissans and of IB and LOC dwellers.
Kissans have been making a lot of contribution in the country and Kissans are said to be Anna Data as about 80% population of the country is of Kissans but children of Kissan are being totally neglected by rationalization of reservation and a big joke has been done with IB & LOC youth by clubbing both and enhancing only 1% reservation i.e. 5%. He further alleged that Rationalization has been done without studying basic conditions on the ground level and without applying proper mind.
Due to the wrong policies of the BJP Govt. towards kissans and they are suffering too much and the situation has come where the children of Kisans are least interested to adopt farming and after getting the education they prefer to do some job. As the BJP Govt. is only doing lip service towards kissans. It is high time that the farming should be made lucrative and incentives like reservation for children of kissans must be provided so that youth are encouraged to adopt farming also.
IB and LOC dwellers are also feeling duped as earlier LOC youth were getting 4% reservation and now IB has been clubbed with them and reservation is 5% only addition of 1%. It has caused heart-burning among the youth of IB and LOC.
Sadhotra has also expressed serious concern over the way SC and OBC are being treated. Mere giving 4% of reservation to OBC is the biggest joke, they are feeling deprived of their genuine and legitimate share of reservation as the OBC is getting in other parts of the country.
What is the fun of giving the hollow slogan of One Nation One Constitution if this depressed class of the society is not really treated in the reservation as in other parts of the country. The sportsmen are also feeling deprived as they have been given only 1% reservation.
Sadhotra has demanded 10% reservation for children of Kissans. 5% separate for IB & LOC and reservation to OBC as is being given in the other parts of the country and Sportspersons be given 5% reservation. We are sensitive bordering part of the country urges and aspirations of all sections of the society be respected to avoid any sense of deprivation which can lead to alienation.
