Early Times Report

Mendhar, Feb 5: The height of negligence by the doctor was witnessed recently at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mendhar, when the doctor on duty, who was busy with his mobile, instructed the medical staff to administer the drip to a patient without examining him putting the life of patient at risk. As per reports, a boy Wasiq Khan (12) son of Raqib Khan, resident of Gohlad Ward No. 2 of Mendhar, who fell seriously ill on 28-01-2020 and was brought at SDH Mendhar by his mother for treatment but Dr Amjad Khan, who present at duty didn’t examine him as he was fiddling with his mobile.
“When I entered the doctor’s room, he didn’t attend my son as he was busy with his mobile and I remained standing there for quite some time. I requested the doctor to examine my son but doctor didn’t care of my plea and ordered his medical staff to administer my son a drip without proper examining, which irate me,” said mother of Wasiq Khan. After being dejected from rude behaviour of doctor at SDH Mendhar, the mother of Wasiq took him to GMC Rajouri for the treatment. Raqib Khan, father of the patient, told Early Times that there are lot of complaints about poor services of this hospital. “How can we expect good health service when the doctors of the hospital don’t care about the patients, which shows sheer negligence of the entire staff and administration,” alleged Raqib Khan. He further appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to take action against such erring doctors.
When BMO Mendhar Dr Parvez was contacted in this connection, he said that he had received the complaint and a notice been issued to the doctor seeking his explanation to clear his position at the earliest.
